Meet Aerolite — the distinguished North Eastern Railway No. 66, later London & North Eastern Railway X1 class 2-2-4 T locomotive, a true one-off. Built in 1869 and rebuilt several times (1886 / 1892 / 1902) into its final 2-2-4 configuration, it served as a dedicated saloon engine for departmental and inspection duties.
This unique engine pulled the company’s mechanical engineer’s saloon coach — making it an ideal visiting set for your layout.
