The South Australian N Class Project

The South Australian Railways N Class locomotives were a cornerstone of steam traction in South Australia. Known for their elegant design, power, and versatility, the N Class served faithfully across the state for decades. Later, many were rebuilt with modernised features, and a more British look, further extending their service life and cementing their place in Australian railway history.

For the very first time, we aim to bring this iconic locomotive—and its rebuilt form—to life in 00 gauge. This unique project captures the character and engineering of one of Australia’s most beloved steam engines.

To move forward, we need 1,500 supporters to join our waitlist. Once that milestone is reached, the project will progress to the next stage with a target price of £195. At that point, advance payments will be invited to fund production. This price secures you an 00 gauge model with the following features:

• Next18 decoder socket
• Factory-fitted sound decoder

Once we reach 1,000 confirmed pre-orders, production will begin. Supporters can request a full refund at any stage of the process, ensuring your commitment is completely safe.
